Asbestos Testing in Windsor
Windsor sat unincorporated for most of its life and only became a city in 1992. It is the town north of Santa Rosa toward Healdsburg, not a Santa Rosa neighborhood and not Fountaingrove with a different name. Old Windsor and the downtown grid still hold cottages and older commercial rooms. Windsor River Road and the remaining orchard and vineyard edges keep farmhouses and outbuildings. Shiloh Road and Lakewood are the ranch-tract era. Newer north-side streets are later construction. The Russian River and Windsor Creek set the low ground; winter water is part of how older floors and plaster age here.
Housing is a stack of eras on a short map. A downtown cottage may still have plaster, an old furnace run, and tile that predates the tract boom. A 1970s or 1980s ranch along Shiloh or in Lakewood is more likely to hide vinyl tile and mastic, acoustic texture, and joint compound—the same remodel triggers as a Santa Rosa ranch, in a different town. Later north-side houses are often new enough that the question is an older garage, a leftover cottage on the lot, or a finish you cannot date. Farmhouses on Windsor River Road add plaster, old floors, and accessory buildings that are not a hallway popcorn job.
Moisture along the creek and river edge changes condition more than it changes the material list. A stained ceiling or a lifted kitchen floor is sampled differently than a dry, intact tile. Remaining orchard and vineyard edges mean a lot that looks suburban can still hide a leftover tank house, shed, or older wing. That is not a Healdsburg wine-country slogan and not a Fountaingrove fire-rebuild story. Windsor did not rebuild a whole tract after 2017. The usual call is a ranch kitchen about to come out, a cottage bath, or an outbuilding in the way of a new house. Looking at the texture does not tell you what is in it. The lab does.
Inspection walks the rooms and accessory structures you flag and records type, location, and condition. Lab testing confirms the sample. A pre-renovation survey is the remodel-scoped version: the kitchen, the hall ceiling, the siding in the path of work. A pre-demolition survey is the wider list when a farmhouse, cottage, or leftover shed is coming down—roofing, floors in every room, mechanical wrap, and the outbuilding, with inaccessible cavities named as inaccessible. Air sampling is for fibers in the air after a messy scrape, not a substitute for knowing the floor. We inspect, sample, and report. We do not abate.
Commercial work in Windsor is small downtown suites and older interiors along the core, not a substitute for a house visit and not a Healdsburg tasting-room contract. Old Windsor rooms can still have the plaster and tile of the unincorporated decades; a later shop buildout may not. If you are remodeling two rooms, we sample those rooms. If the job grows into teardown, say so before the loader is scheduled. We do not treat a Santa Rosa address—or a Fountaingrove rebuild—as a Windsor job.
Call (341) 999-5882 or send the form with the part of town—Old Windsor, downtown, Windsor River Road, Shiloh, Lakewood, or the north side—the year if you know it, and which finishes you plan to cut. Mention leaks, outbuildings, and whether the structure is staying or coming down. The quote is free and does not obligate you to book. If the street is actually Healdsburg or north Santa Rosa, say so. This page is for Windsor.

Frequently asked questions
My north-side Windsor house is newer. Do I still need testing?
Many later north-side houses use newer finishes. If an older garage, leftover cottage, or undated floor remains, or if you are unsure of the finish date, say so and we will scope the older pieces.
Do you sample farmhouses along Windsor River Road?
Yes, when those buildings are the project. Plaster, old floors, and outbuildings are ordinary Windsor work. We sample the finishes you plan to disturb, not the orchard.
Is Windsor the same as Healdsburg or Fountaingrove?
No. Healdsburg is a different town. Fountaingrove is a Santa Rosa area with a fire-rebuild mix Windsor does not share. Confirm the street with the quote.
We are tearing down a leftover outbuilding. Inspection or demolition survey?
A leftover shed or cottage coming down belongs on a pre-demolition survey so the sample list covers more than one kitchen. A remodel you are keeping is the narrower pre-renovation survey.
